Mixing Stage 1
Mixing Stage
Firstly, I had to arrange each audio file according to its origin and stack the tracks by clicking create Track Stack and then folder stack. For example, vocal lead, vocal BV, piano, strings, guitar, drums, percussions, pads, synth, and FX. I then add gain with the settings of -12 and clicked the mono button for each track. Next, I fixed the volume for each audio file and changed each pan to stereo pan. I panned the drums according to the drum set but reversed and panned the others according to the graph below. I then turn on the EQ in the stereo output to check any loud frequency in the overall track. I added his reference song below to match the outcome of the EQ and added an EQ on the stereo out to check the frequency from time to time. I have yet to mix the vocals, pads, piano and fx.
Drums, Percussions and Bass
I added EQ for the drums, percussions and bass using most of the high and low pass filters to make room for each frequency. I added an exciter first on the bass tracks with the settings of 170Hz and the harmonics on 32% and an EQ next. Next, I bussed the drums, percussions and bass together (Bus 1) to an aux track and add the Studio Fet (Blackface 1176) in the audio effect slot.
Guitar
I added an EQ by having a high pass filter and most the mids, low mids and highs gradually and then added the Classic VCA compression (dbx 160) below.
