Producing For Wesley
I have finally received the audio file from Wesley and with a short period of time to produce, I have managed to get the vocals done with Flex Time, Flex Pitch. I started to Flex Time first by using the polyphonic setting on all of the vocals. Next, I used Flex Pitch to pitch some minor off pitch notes.
Adding the Effects (Vocoder)
For his Chorus part 1 and 2, I have added a vocoder just to highlight some of the words and to make it more exciting. First, I had to change the audio file to a midi track by watching this video, it only works if there is Flex Pitch data on the audio track. I had to go into the editors tab and select the audio, click on edit and select Create Midi Track From Flex Pitch Data. Once I got the midi track, I start to choose which words I would like it to be highlighted. After, I chose the EVOC PS (Vocoder Synth) in the instrument slot and selected the Noise Effect Voice under Warped Vocoder and added an EQ for sound design.
Adding The Effects (Vocal Chops)
Besides that, I added vocal chops in the instrumental parts of the songs. To create the vocal chops (video), I first right clicked on the Chorus Lead Part 2 (or any preferred vocal track), selected Convert In New Sampler Track and selected the Transient Marker setting. I then add Pitch Shifter and Space Designer for sound design. After the creative process (idea) is done, I then duplicate the midi track into two other tracks. The first with +12 semi tones, the second with -12 semi tones and I kept the last at 0 semi tones. Lastly, I fixed the velocity and timing of each midi track and deleted some midi notes to have a variety of pitches in each midi track.
Bounced the whole track to a wave file.

The tune is good, but the vocals still need work. The pitch and timing are ok, but they don't have a lot of presence.
